Caring with Compassion

Compassion for All

Feeling at peace and at home is within all of us. It cannot be found but only felt. Sometimes that feeling is shadowed by stress in our work, yet we have a choice to return the next day new, rooted in compassion for ourselves and for all. Perhaps with the following meditation in closing, you may recall the one patient that triggered Secondary Traumatic Stress for you (slide 7). You’re invited to offer this meditation with that in mind.

Loving Kindness Meditation
May you be happy
May you be well
May you be safe
May you be at peace

Repeat for a friend (maybe the abused child), for someone of conflict (maybe the alleged perpetrator), for everyone and for yourself.
