Caring with Compassion

Fierce Compassion

With an understanding of fierce compassion, we can express compassion for the "enemy," being both firm and kind. According to a yoga virtue called "Ahimsa," which means to live in non-violence through one's actions, words and thoughts, those who do not live in non-violence live in their own "moral abyss."

Perhaps, then, rather than "hating" the enemy, we can practice fierce compassion, doing our sometimes difficult but necessary work with Ahimsa in mind.

Reflection

Perhaps a difficult case comes to mind when you felt negativity toward an alleged perpetrator.

Can you look back and consider a lens of fierce compassion for that case?
