Course: Caring with Compassion
A reflection course to foster well-being in child abuse medical providers
Mandy A. O’Hara, MD, MPH, TCTSY-F, is a board certified child abuse pediatrician, an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Columbia University Medical Center and a CHAMP Mentor. She is a published researcher on the topics of child neglect, physical abuse, secondary traumatic stress and provider well-being, and has created education materials regarding Trauma-Informed Care. She also leads regional and national efforts in medical provider wellness. As a long-standing yoga and meditation practitioner and Reiki Master, she brings a holistic view to her work from a lens of compassion for all. She is a certified Facilitator of Trauma Sensitive Yoga and has been offering this practice to address medical workplace traumatic stress.
