Faculty are required to be certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in
child abuse pediatrics.
Faculty must be actively performing child abuse evaluations in New York
State or teaching at an academic institution in New York State.
Faculty providing observerships must work in a facility with an established
child-friendly model of care, such as a Child Advocacy Center, and offer
several patient appointments during a day. They also must be familiar with
the online version of the Evaluating Child Sexual Abuse course.
Criteria for Associate Faculty
Associate Faculty are required to be physicians, nurse practitioners or
physician assistants and have training and experience in providing child
abuse evaluations.
Associate Faculty must work with CHAMP Faculty.
Associate Faculty at a facility offering observerships must be familiar with
the online version of the Evaluating Child Sexual Abuse course.
